Collision Damage Waiver

Under our terms and conditions of hire, once the machine has either been delivered to site or collected from one of our depots, you "the customer" assumes all responsibility for the safe use and daily checks of the machine under the "CPA model conditions of hire". This includes all loss and damage that could occur through its use.

For an additional cost Universal agrees to retain certain levels of responsibility and provide the following protection whether the plant is Operated or Self Drive.

Non Operated Plant - Self Drive

For an additional 20% of the hire rate, Universal will retain responsibility for any loss or damage as a result of any accidental cause.

Examples of what we WILL pay for

Theft (Subject to conditions)

Malicious damage and vandalism

Fire damage

In the case of vehicle mounted equipment damage to third party property or injury to any person whilst used on a public road

Examples of what we WILL NOT pay for

The first £3,000 of any loss

Damage by paint or over spray

Damage to tyres & punctures

Corrosion caused by chemicals & any corrosive agents

Damage due to overloading

Any damage caused by misuse or negligence

Damage by fire where adequate preventative measures were not taken

Damage to third party property or injury to any person whilst off a Public Highway, racing or whilst carrying persons for hire or reward

Theft of hired machines where the Hirer has left such property *Unattended without placing it in a securely locked Compound, and ensuring that it is locked and immobilised.

* Unattended means where hired machine can be stolen or removed without the immediate assistance of the Hirer or Operator of the hired machine.

Operated Plant - Hired with one of Universal's Operators

For an additional 10% of the hire rate, Universal will retain responsibility for any loss or damage as a result of any accidental cause.
